Position Description

We are currently seeking full-time SURVEY TECHNICIAN in our West Des Moines, Iowa; Coralville, Iowa; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Dubuque, Iowa and Rock Island, Illinois offices. Our survey department is vital to assisting engineers on a wide array of civil, municipal and environmental projects. 

Responsibilities

  • Researches courthouse and/or title company records and deeds to interpret and process data for calculating boundary surveys and plats. 
  • Perform occasional field work under direct supervision 
  • Perform quality control checks of work from field crews
  • Review and Analyze information from digital GIS data and online mapping sources to be included in plats. 
  • Process field data and create ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Plats of Survey, Retracement Surveys, Topographic Surveys, and Easement Plats
  • Communicate and Coordinate with internal staff and external clients to insure a complete, timely, precise product within the allotted budget. 

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Surveying preferred. 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with a positive attitude
  • Proficiency in MS Office products.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as team members. 
  • Interpersonal skills to interface effectively with employees and managers. 
  • Organizational skills and aptitude for detail. 
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks and develop personally and professionally. 
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple survey tasks.
