POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a full-time PROFESSIONAL LICENSED SURVEYOR in our WEST DES MOINES, IOWA office to serve as the SURVEY DEPARTMENT MANAGER. Our survey department is vital to assisting engineers on a wide array of civil, municipal and environmental projects. We are seeking a Professional Licensed Surveyor who would work with Land Survey Chiefs, Engineers and Construction Observers. The preferred candidate will have previous supervisory experience and have a strong desire to be a team player.   

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and provide guidance for survey crews and coordinate survey schedules  
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and internal design teams
  • Ability to prepare ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys and other boundary surveys. 
  • Ability to prepare topographic surveys, subdivision plats, legal descriptions and exhibits 
  • Support field crews with the production of field data and preparation of calculations 
  • Visit job sites and consultant offices as needed to support project efforts 
  • Work within project scopes, deadlines and budgets 
  • Quality control for all survey deliverables 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Iowa   
  • Associate’s degree in Civil and Construction Engineering Technology or equivalent 
  • 10+ years of surveying experience with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role preferred  
  • Intermediate to experienced level of expertise with all major technical aspects of surveying 
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson Surv CE, Trimble Access and Microsoft Office
  • Possess sound communication and writing skills.
  • Possess positive organizational and team management skills.
