Position Description

We are currently seeking a full-time CAD TECHNICIAN/DESIGN-DRAFTER in our WEST DES MOINES office. Our team works with local communities on a wide range of civil, municipal, and environmental projects. We are looking for a CAD Technician/ Design-Drafter who has working knowledge of MicroStation and experience working with Departments of Transportation. This CAD Technician will work with Project Managers, other CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Surveyors and office staff in various capacities.

Responsibilities

• Utilize primarily MicroStation software to perform detailed drafting and design of transportation projectsincluding plan preparation
• Work on a team to develop Civil Engineering Plan Sets
• Work primarily in an office setting, with a CAD Workstation
• Ability to prioritize workflow and maintain project schedules
• Miscellaneous office and technology tasks as necessary
• Managing individual and Team library of CAD design details
• Stay current on latest CAD technology and trends

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related degree required
• 2+ years of civil/transportation engineering with MicroStation CAD drafting preferred
• Candidates with additional experience are encouraged to apply
• Proficient in MicroStation required
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a consulting environment in a team setting
